In 2025, SEBA secured a total of 17 national fund projects, setting a new historical record. Among these, 11 projects were funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), also reaching a record high. The breakdown includes 1 Outstanding Youth Science Fund (Category A, formerly the National Distinguished Young Scholar Project), 7 General Program projects, 2 Youth Program projects, and 1 Youth Student Basic Research Project (for PhD students). The School's NSFC project approval rate for this year reached 32.25%, far exceeding the national average of 12.29%. Additionally, 6 projects received funding from the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), comprising 1 Major Project, 3 General Projects, 1 Western Region Project, and 1 Post-funded Project.
Among this year's outstanding achievements, Professor Yu Peiwen was awarded the Outstanding Youth Science Fund (Category A, formerly the National Distinguished Young Scholar Project). This marks the School's second receipt of this prestigious grant within five years, ranking it among the top 10 business schools within China's 985 universities. The achievement signifies the School's remarkable success in cultivating top-tier academic leaders and its continuously strengthening national influence. Professor Yao Shujie secured a Major Project from the National Social Science Fund, his second such award since 2018, demonstrating the School's robust research capabilities in addressing holistic, strategic, and forward-looking major theoretical and practical issues in the social sciences.
SEBA will further integrate research resources, strengthen team collaboration, and continuously enhance its research and innovation capacity to produce more internationally influential research outcomes in economics and management. These efforts will contribute the School's expertise to the university's "Double First-Class" construction, Chongqing's development strategies, and the nation's critical needs.
