As of August 2025, according to the latest query results from the official database of the UTD Top 100 Business School Research Rankings by the University of Texas at Dallas, the School of Economics and Business Administration at Chongqing University ranks 35th among Chinese business schools (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) in the UTD 2021–2025 ranking, moving up two places compared to the same period last year. Among China’s 985 Project universities, it now ranks 16th, climbing one spot year-on-year. This reflects both the high quality and the consistent progress of the School of Economics and Business Administration at Chongqing University in contributing to international academic publications. Amid increasingly intense competition for publishing in top-tier international business journals, the school continues to strive forward, demonstrating the strength and impact of Chongqing University.

Ranking Criteria from the Official Database:

The ranking is primarily based on research articles published in the 24 journals under the UTD business discipline list (see figure above).

Author affiliation is determined by the institution recorded at the time of publication.

Ranking Methodology:

A single-authored paper earns the affiliated institution 1 point.
If a paper has multiple authors from different institutions, each institution receives a score of p/n, where p is the number of authors from that institution and n is the total number of authors.
If an author lists multiple affiliations, each institution associated with that author receives a corresponding weighted score.
For example, if one of the nn authors lists mm affiliations, each institution listed for that author will receive 1/nm points.
