From June 24 to July 2, 2025, the School of Economics and Business Administration organized a nine-day study visit program at Politecnico di Milano in Italy, involving 31 participants, including 14 undergraduates, 15 postgraduate students, and two faculty members. This program not only provided a valuable opportunity for academic exchange with a world-renowned institution but also, through a variety of academic activities and on-site visits, offered deep insights into Italy’s advanced practices in industries such as manufacturing, finance, fashion, and sports management.

Politecnico di Milano, a globally top-ranked university in engineering and technology, is placed 111th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, leading all Italian universities. The program featured a compact and enriching schedule, including eight thematic lectures, visits to three renowned Italian enterprises, and interdisciplinary technology project tours. On the first day in Milan, participants immersed themselves in the charm of this city, where history and modernity converge. The program officially commenced with a welcome luncheon hosted by Politecnico di Milano’s Global Affairs Office. Welcoming remarks by Professor Sergio Terzi, Vice Dean for International Affairs, marked the beginning of the academic exchange, followed by enlightening lectures by Professor Lucia Lamberti on "Italian Business Culture" and Professor Lucio Lamberti on "Industrial Branding and Regional Advantages."

The combination of academic discussions and on-site explorations added significant practical value to the program. Lectures by financial expert Professor Quillico on "Major Trends in Italian Finance," Professor Kotlar’s in-depth analysis of "Family Business Management," and Professor Davide Alegri’s insights on "Sports Management" offered fresh perspectives to the participants. Notably, the visit to the San Siro Stadium, home of AC Milan, provided a tangible understanding of the sports industry as a vast commercial ecosystem. These diverse activities not only broadened the participants’ international horizons but also enhanced their professional competencies through cross-cultural exchange.

Students shared profound reflections on their experiences. Chen Xinhongyu, a postgraduate student enrolled in 2024, expressed deep admiration after visiting the Pagani factory: "The Italian commitment to craftsmanship has shown me the core competitiveness of high-end manufacturing, and this dedication to excellence is something I aspire to emulate." Another student remarked, "Professor Kotlar’s lecture on family businesses challenged traditional perceptions. Many family enterprises have achieved century-long legacies through innovation, offering new directions for corporate research." Faculty leader Zhao Yu observed with satisfaction: "Seeing the students actively engage, ask questions, and grow throughout the program has been truly rewarding. This visit was not only an academic journey but also a valuable cultural exchange, showcasing the outstanding qualities of our students."

The success of this study visit program will further deepen the collaboration between the School of Economics and Business Administration and the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano. Both institutions will explore more opportunities in student exchanges, talent development, and scientific research cooperation.
