On September 18, 2025, the School of Economics and Business Administration of Chongqing University and the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano jointly established a scientific research cooperation platform for sustainable development. The first exchange meeting was held on the same day in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation. The meeting was attended by Professor Sergio Terzi, Vice Dean of the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano, and Professor Davide Chiaroni, Director of the Energy and Strategy Research Center, along with their team. From Chongqing University, participants included Professor Xie Hui, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Professor Liu Xin, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration, Professor Zhou Yu, Professor Wang Feng, and Associate Professor Ou Jinghua. Professor Liu Xin traveled to Milan specifically to attend the meeting in person, which effectively advanced the collaboration process between the two institutions.

The newly established research cooperation platform holds significant importance. It provides a high-quality communication bridge for researchers from both sides, facilitating various scientific research activities for professors, researchers, and doctoral students. These activities include presenting the latest research findings and engaging in in-depth discussions on working papers. Such efforts strongly promote deep cooperation in the field of sustainable development research and create favorable opportunities for joint publication of collaborative papers in international journals.

The School of Management of Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI School of Management), founded in 2003, is a well-known European business school accredited by AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. The Energy and Strategy Research Center, established in 2007 under the school, consistently focuses on key economic issues in Europe. It conducts in-depth research in energy management, economic dynamics, and ecological transformation, striving to build new business models and ecosystems. The center is committed to providing theoretical support and practical guidance for promoting sustainable development in Europe’s economy and energy sectors. Professor Sergio Terzi and Professor Davide Chiaroni are leading researchers at the center. Professor Sergio Terzi’s research focuses on product lifecycle management (PLM), smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, digital twins, and sustainable production systems. He has long served as the knowledge dissemination and results transformation lead for EU and Italian national projects. Professor Davide Chiaroni’s research centers on "innovation management, circular economy, and sustainability." He has achieved remarkable accomplishments in academia and was successfully selected as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in 2023.
