Tampa, Fla., USA (July 25, 2017)—AACSB International (AACSB) announces that Chongqing University has earned accreditation for its School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA). Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools, and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide.
"AACSB congratulates Chongqing University and dean Xing Liu on earning accreditation," said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. "AACSB Accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees. The entire SEBA team of Chongqing University—including the administration, faculty, directors, staff, and students—are to be commended for their roles in earning accreditation."
Synonymous to the highest standards of quality, AACSB Accreditation inspires new ways of thinking within business education globally, and as a result, has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business schools. Today, there are 795 institutions across 53 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. Similarly, 185 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.
"As the second business school in West China earning AACSB accreditation, we are proud to reach this milestone," said Dean Xing Liu. "Located in Chongqing—one of the most important economic centers of China—SEBA of Chongqing University's ambition is to be one of the best business schools in China. We will continuously devote our efforts to provide quality education and intellectual contributions for the community and the world."
AACSB-accredited schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education. During this multi-year process the school focuses on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB's Accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to: strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.
